We had good turnout for our annual Spring Church Workday on 3/20/10. Please check out all of the pictures for those working on Saturday. In addition, not pictured were Casimerette Meyer, Jim Hiner, and Deb Lawrence who did their work another day. Thanks to all for the great turnout and all of the work accomplished.

The women at Daleville celebrated Mother's Day at Camp Bethel on May 7th. Mothers came together with their children, grandchildren, and friends to celebrate mothers. Judy Mills Reimer was our guest speaker who spoke about "Seeing the Sermon rather than Hearing the Sermon". What a nice evening was had by all in The Ark while 8 deer were grazing right outside. A lovely setting for lovely women. Please check out this link for pictures.
Youth Lock In 2010
The youth enjoyed an overnight lock in on September 24, 2010. After enjoying dinner at Pizza Hut, they learned how to make braided bracelets and necklaces, watched some movies, ate popcorn and other snacks, and enjoyed just being together. Sleep was even involved - ending the next morning at a pancake breakfast. Fun times. Check out the rest of the pictures here.
The men worked with Botetourt Kiwanis and Teen Challenge in Fincastle cutting wood. The wood will be used at the Teen Challenge facility in Fincastle. Participating from Kiwanis are Benton Bolton, Larry Boitnott, Tim Boitnott and Monty Vess. Those from Daleville are Benton Bolton, Jim Driver, Bob Patterson, Aric King, Gene Lee and Art Lawrence. They were able to cut 8-10 pick up loads of wood. Please check out teenchallenge4u.com for more information.

Another successful yard sale was held at Daleville. This is a picture of the family who purchased the player piano that was donated by a friend of the Carters'. The young girl was "over the moon" that she was able to buy it. Please check out this link for additional pictures.

Our men at Daleville were honored today during an informal worship and cookout. Please check out this link for additional pictures.

Today, July 12, 2010 was Glenn McCrickard's last day as our Church Moderator. He's done a fantastic job and will be missed. We wish him well in his new position.

Our youth also performed a Camp Bethel song with the assistance of Clyde Carter "Kumbaya". What a wonderful time, even though the congregation didn't catch onto the "rap" version as fast as we should have! Check out these pictures for more pictures of Glenn and our youth.

Lisa Pielocik organized an Emergency Room Painting session to refurbish our outdoor Nativity Scene. Please check out this link for some pictures of before and after. Thanks to all who contributed their talents and be sure to check out the bank near our church sign around Christmas for the finished scene.
Daleville CoB, St. Mark's United Methodist, and Church of the Transfiguration Catholic Church joined together on Sunday, September 19th, to celebrate International Day of Prayer for Peace. We had face painting, origami doves, games, puppet shows, peace poster contest, the release of doves to fly home, SERRV items for sale to benefit underprivileged artisans, and a campfire with song, meditation, and prayer. Please check out this website for additional pictures. Thanks to Karen Carter and her team from the other churches for all of the work and dreaming that was done to bring attention to the need and desire for Peace in the World.
